As we settle into the summer season, we notice a shift in the atmosphere. A shift in tone. As we combat high humidity, hair that won’t cooperate and the waves of heat- our tone shifts too.
The change in heat makes us all a bit more feverish for inspiration.
More sunshine.
More strolls. More frolicking.
More sweet treats.
More belly laughs.
More unforgettable nights out.
Fanciful dresses that tell stories and what you wear for your adventures is what inspired Cynthia Vincent’s designs for our HIGH SUMMER curated capsule.
When we lensed Joy Nash for our Wanderlust Summer series- we asked to tag along to the places and destinations she’d ordinarily frequent and travel to, everyday.
Set in Los Feliz- a neighborhood filled with tiny thrift shops and boutiques, family owned restaurants and cafe’s, beautiful park lets and bustle of foot traffic- it felt more authentic than any photo studio.
While many of my darlings are chasing adventure in faraway lands across the globe for the Summer season- we wanted to take inspiration from the reality that many are opting to stay home this Summer.
How does one begin to romance the “everyday”?
When it came to styling, everything felt incredibly natural- almost unchoreographed- surprising since we were lensing the Summer 2026 campaign.
Joy has a love for vintage fashion and thrifting- often opting to pair her BAACAL pieces with vintage oxford shoes and vintage Coach crossbody bags for everyday styling.
Her sensibilities and her aura felt so synonymous with the spirit of the JONI SUN DRESS- our newest offering and a reimagined silhouette from designer Cynthia Vincent that fully encapsulates a wanderlust summer filled with adventure and possibilities.
In her BAACAL collection, she rotates her favorite BAACAL pieces with her vintage finds- wearing pieces day to day like our archived JONI dress, the archived JALLABA caftans and more recently, her fandom of the JONI SUN DRESS for which she has a two color way rotation as her summer uniform.
Joy also has a fun spirited array of vintage jewelry she has sourced over the years, so it was great fun styling pieces she knows intimately with her new additions to her closet.
For Wanderlust Summer, we dreamed up all the ways someone might embrace the heat of the summer and the chaos of the city- whether it be the daily commute to the office, or treating yourself to a waffle cone ice cream treat in the afternoon- or if you’re like Joy, the weekend ritual of sitting in the park with a blanket, a good book, wine and cheese, and sunbathing for hours.
Joy embodies everything we aspire to achieve- too many to name but that come to mind: a passionate conviction to make the world a better place, a penchant for blending vintage finds with her BAACAL pieces, and uncanny ability to provoke deep belly laughs.
